This was my first cruise with Norweigan, and I am never going back. Starting with embarkation, the process was painful and confusing. It took several hours longer than expected and when we got on, every part of the ship was already packed with people. During the safety briefing, we were screamed at to shut up and there was broken glass on the floor. There was also broken glass on my parents deck for the entirety of the cruise when it was meant to be hosed off.

Everyday our room steward (she was the only good part) left a freestyle daily for the next day in our room with the itinerary, yet our cruise directory Mandy still announced the events of the day at 7AM at concert level volumes where you cannot even hear the person next to you talking. These announcements were not meant to be heard from state rooms, yet it was as though she was in our room with a microphone talking to us. Sleeping in is not an option.

On to dining, I was not even remotely pleased with the food. The quality was abysmal and the service was terrible. There were some nice waiters, but they were the exception not the rule. If you wanted decent food, you had to pay for it. Generally, the food tasted pre made and frozen, if it wasn't it was often undercooked. The options were not great either. The buffet is crowded and the food is poorly made. We were also told almost every day that the wait was 45+ minutes, then only waited about 2 minutes. I don't know if they were trying to get rid of us or what. The wait for food and water was usually pretty long, but the waiters were apologetic.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Stateroom with Large Picture Window

Cabin OA

Cabin is nice and big with a large window. Our steward was great and the room was always up to standards. Only problem was the phone/doorbell/announcement alarm light and vibrations since it's a handicapped room. I was woken up by this at 2AM for an announcement one day, and 7AM every other day.
