This ship is nicely laid out and I liked the earth tone decor, even if it is a bit dated. Food was okay. Dining room dinners were not great and they serve all the same food in the Lido each evening so if you want to skip dinner, you can eat the same food upstairs. The Lido buffet was the typical gluttonous mass of humanity that it usually is so I tried to avoid it as much as possible. Here are some options:

Sandwich bar on Lido.- Very good but usually long lines.

Wok bar on Lido- I was told it was very good, but I never was able to catch it without 20 people in line so I never ate there.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8C

The room was nothing special but adequate. Spacious enough with plenty of storage. My disappointment was the bed, which was so uncomfortable that it made it hard to sleep. The steward tried to help by adding comforters on to the mattress, but it wasn't great. The shower is the old fashioned little plastic shower stall with curtain and the shower head was kind of gross and never really stays pointed down so you have to hold that. They really should upgrade that. The room was nothing special, but adequate.

Port Reviews

Cozumel

WE did not do an excursion, but we've been here many times and I can highly recommend Mr. Sanchos resort. You can get a cab there ($12) and then pay about $20 to get in and you can use their pools, beach chairs, bar, restaurant, facilites...etc. For an extra charge you can rent a waverunner, go horseback riding on the beach, or dune buggy riding. They also have a wonderful massage tent right there at the resort. We usually go waverunning then get a massage, have a couple of tacos and then take a taxi back to town and walk around a bit before returning to the ship.

Costa Maya

Although Costa Maya is a fake little town built for the cruise ships, they've done a good job. We did get a wonderful massage right there at the port and it was very good and very reasonable. Your best bet at Costa May is to do an excursion and then do some looking around at the port before returning to the ship. I would warn you not to buy anything there because it is VERY EXPENSIVE. They have all the same stuff in Cozumel at a much better price. Example: Dress at Costa Maya $60. Exact same one in Cozumel $10.
