This was a spur of the moment decision for us and we booked this cruise at the last minute. We chose this cruise because we loved the itinerary, the ship (second time on Freedom) and the length of the cruise.

We had Any Time Dining and on day one we were able to make an 8pm dinner reservation every night for the entire cruise. We usually were seated at table number 254 in Leonardo's. John was our Waiter and the Assistant Waiter was Igeede. They were both outstanding. They were very friendly, very attentive and extremely professional. They were always asking if there was anything else we would like to eat or was there anything else they could do to make our dining experience more enjoyable. Our Head Waiter was Ischem. Of all the cruises we have been on (27) Ischem was by far the friendliest and most professional Head Waiter. He was every where! Always mingling with the passengers and making sure the service and hopefully the food met their expectations. If there was an issue, he addressed it immediately. All three of the gentlemen are each such an asset to the RCCL team. Truly the Best of the Best!

Regarding the food, my husband and I always found something we enjoyed. The way I look at it, there were 4400+ passengers on board. Taking that into consideration, I think they do a very good job. Yes, it may not be what you find at your very favorite restaurant at home or in one of their specialty restaurants but all things considered, it was very good. We never left hungry!!

Cabin 1N

We booked this cruise at the last minute. We loved the itinerary, the ship (second time on Freedom) and the length of the cruise. For the two of us, our room was comfortable. It did have two pullman beds that unfolded from the ceiling. We both agreed that if you had two adults and two small kids it would be doable but tight. There was a loveseat and a small cocktail table. The loveseat was comfortable but was showing signs of wear.

Our bed and our pillows were very comfortable and we were happy that we could store our luggage under the beds. On Freedom, our mattress was comfortable, not too soft and not too hard. Unlike when we were on Enchantment. That mattress was uncomfortably hard and our attendant had to create a make shift pillow topper so I was able to get a good nights nest. I mention this because of the number of Freedom passengers who wrote complaining how hard their mattress was. Maybe as mattresses are being replaced the replacements are firmer than the ones their replacing??

Carry was our cabin attendant and she was very friendly and approachable. She kept our cabin very clean and always gave the impression that if there was anything she could do to make our stay more comfortable, all we needed to do was ask. The room did have a stale smell which I was surprised she hadn't noticed but the air freshener I packed solved the problem. There was always a sour/mildowy smell in the hall that we would always notice as we walked to and from our cabin. The vanity had enough drawer space for my make up and lingerie/small size items. I asked for an additional 10 hangers and she brought them immediately. There were 6 shelves in the closet and a safe. One thing I wish RCCL would put in the bathroom is a nightlight. That bright ceiling light is blinding especially at 3 in the morning. Overall, Carry was great and the cabin was pretty comfortable.
