This was supposed to be an incredible trip - two sisters exploring 5 exotic Baltic Sea ports. Only it turned out to be 2 Baltic Sea ports, a lot of excuses and non compensation for our ruined vacation.
Let me start with the fact that my sister and I booked the 9 day Baltic Sea cruise to see Berlin, Stockholm, Helsinki, Tallin and St. Petersburg in Sept of 2018. Our trip started with the cruise line telling us that our first port (Berlin) was cancelled and that we would remain in Copenhagen an extra day. They knew about this over 48 hours before we embarked and failed to tell us. They claim that they emailed us. But no one we spoke to received the email. They cancelled 2 more of our ports even though we watched ferries and other boats make the trip. They said that the port of St. Petersburg was closed due to flooding so we had to wait another day. But they could have rearranged our itinerary to allow us to visit at least 1 more port.
The staff was surly - servers on other cruise lines have always been jovial and friendly. These servers looked like they were being inconvenience by us sitting at their table. And that was after we had to wait up to 90 minutes for a table for "freestyle dining " (which sucks by the way - make a reservation and you won't have to wait as long. Oh - but you can't make those reservations on the ship - they had to be done in advance). We sat or stood outside with a pager waiting for a table for 2. I would have walked out at home - but here you are stuck.
Cabin was nice - and room stewardess (Nancy) was very nice. Actually the room stewards seemed to be the only friendly staff members on the ship - and the hardest workers.
