I have to admit, we had a great time!. My wife and I are in our 50s and usually go with Celebrity around Europe for 1-2 weeks, but this was our nieces birthday so her and all her 40ish friends wanted to go on this 3 day Carnival Ensenada cruise. We though well its not Celebrity, but its for our nieces birthday so what the heck lets go. Where to start?.... boarding was no problem, no wait. Passport or birth cert. and ID. We arrived, walked right on and to our suite at 1:30 and had lunch. The food was very good in all areas. Guy Fieries Cheeseburgers were very good, the buffet was very good as well, and the dining room had great food. I really like the thin crust pizza near the back it was amazing. All the employees around the ship friendly and got you pretty much whatever you needed. There is the LOUD pool area with DJ for those who want to dance and listen to that kind of music, not for us, so we went to Serenity in the back which is an area for over 21, light relaxing music and nice lounge chairs, best place to be if you are mid life and not trying to act 21 with a bathing suit you shouldnt be wearing. The shows on board were ok, a little cheesy, lip syncing dancing but OK if you are easily amused. The comics have 2 shows, early, no profanity and late with. The comedian was just meh. 3 different dance clubs, karaoke, etc.. they were OK if you are 21-31 and want to club dance and drink. The drinks were all good, we got the drink package and we didn't use all of it per day. 50 bucks a day per person per room. Oh... and EVERYONE in your room must buy the drink package. no getting just one and you get drinks for everyone in your room. Drinks are about 10 bucks so do the math if you like to drink.

We upgraded to a suite to get a veranda. The only veranda rooms are suites. So if you are never in your room dont bother with a suite. Considerably more, but we had a nice sized room with a big veranda. About 21/2 times more per person but worth it I thought. The ship is a little dated but clean. We stayed on board in Ensenada I don't need any Chickletts gum or fanny packs. Ensenada is walking distance about 20 min walk. So contrary to many of these reviews, everything was 4-5 stars. I would do it again. I hope this was helpful.
