I chose this itinerary because it worked with my schedule and it was better priced than most others b/c it was a repositioning cruise. I have traveled on all the major lines and I knew I wanted to try Celebrity again. My goal was to relax the ports of call were not very important to me.
I was hesitant choosing Summit because of her age. I read both good and poor reviews. I also didn't want a mega ship - navigating on those ships is frustrating and I don't care about the "rockwall" type features.
Ship: I was pleasantly surprised at how well the ship itself looked. As other reviews said, you saw some wear but nothing terrible (that i saw). Its not a very large ship and usually I adapt to ship surroundings very easily but I had some navigating challenges at times. All the windows and glass surfaces were dirty (expected on a ship but seemed excessive). I did not care for the "Smell" of the cafe where all the buffets were - it smelled dirty. There was also a foul smell at all toilets (in cabin and in public spaces). But i am nitpicking.
Stateroom: I chose a Sky Suite and because I was last minute there were limited options - I ended up in stateroom 6119 which is S2. Location was good being between midship and aft elevators. The room overall was also in good shape. Some surfaces and upholstery showed wear but not extensive. A- on how clean it was! There is an incredible about of storage not just in the large closet but lots of drawers and cabinets all over stateroom. There was something up with floor near the sofa it is uneven and made weird noise. I also did not really like the view of lifeboats outside my balcany - but it was nice to just relax out there. All in all I was very happy with room.
My Maho excursion was canceleld so I went there - lots of cabs available. Was a very cool expierence.
Megan's bay beach is beautiful. Took cab, they have rentals available and restaurant onsite.
