14th cruise with Princess. Granddaughter came along to help. Embarkation smooth for most part. Took a long time with so many passengers. Disembarkation took a while for same reasons.Ship, cabin, service great as always. Dining? Spent more time on Horizon Court this trip. Dining room food seemed overly rich with more unnecessary sauces and not the same kinds of choices we had before. Now if you want steak, it's an extra charge! Thought that was too bad. Seems as though more things we took for granted (free coffee at coffee bar) is now charged. Horizon Court staff are the best! Food was good and mostly healthy.

Granddaughter enjoyed shore excursions. We older folks had trouble. For Victoria time was cut short. By the time we got off the ship, it was a very long walk to the bus for Burchardt Gardens. We were not told this and my husband has mobility issues. . Also told, only a step up or 2 for bus; it was about 6 or so. (On way back, husband missed a step and sat down and needed help getting up). Waited then still at ship, a long time for no shows. By the time we got there, we only had about a half hour or so. The gardens need several hours and more. We gave up on the Mt. Roberts tramway. Supposedly close to ship. Not close enough for husband. Granddaughter loved it and hiked almost to top. She loved all her excursions in rainforest, ziplining, etc.

Would we go again? We'll have to think about it. 12 days may be too long. BUT we did love being able to go and come back to Los Angeles. And we enjoy the coastal cruises. Haven't give up yet!

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MD

Cabin very good with lots of room. Bed seemed to slope on either side and sheets seemed slippery. Husband slipped out of bed first night while seated and had a lot of trouble getting up. We called for assistance and at 3 am two great guys came and helped him. They also helped put up a rail for him that we'd brought that helped for rest of the trip. Other than that, cabin great. I do wish they had stall showers. Grand daughter enjoyed her sofa bed pullout and said it was comfortable. Steward of course was excellent!
