Ten day cruise Sydney to Sydney via Brisbane, Port Douglas, Willis island, Airlie beach. Ship is 20 years old but kept in pretty good condition but rust obvious in places. Got on board at end of world cruise so fair amount of Foreign passengers choose to do this cruise as well so lot of americans, etc. Embarkation quick and painless. Cabin smallish with very small bathroom but adequate. Bed extremely comfortable. Balacony Ok. Seas were good entire voyage so that was good. Lots of bars and lounges including well stocked library so always somewhere to find quiet place. One thing we did like was the lack of taped music thoughout the ship which is so common these days and most annoying. Large Atrium with the usual shops, Reception and Coffee shop. Coffee shop very popular and can be hard to find seat but it does takeaways as well. Ship has a walkaround around Promonade deck which is so rare these days. Good for walking around and has seats you can relax in. Numerous places to eat. Horizine resturant is buffett style and can get very crowded. Really strict on hygeine. You wont be allowed in Horizine unless you are seen to wash your hands in the sinks at the entrance. The other restaurants have hand sanitizers which you also must use. Main restaurants good. Food ok and service good but a bit slow at times and gets noisey. Behind the Horizine is the Terrace Grill. Its an open deck small restaurant which supples Hamburgers including vegan, Hot dogs Chips Etc.There are two main pools with spas plus one pool with spa at the stern which is adults only.Entertainment wise is not bad. Usually a show in the main theatre. About half a dozen other entertainers play thoughout the ship at various times of the day. Quality is from very good to not too good depending on what you like. Crew are excellent . Ship has no compulsory gratitues or service charges but we tipped at the end of cruise. The crew work long and hard for poor wages so keep that in mind. The Captain. Captin Lyle was very good. An english gentleman with a good sense of humour and always to be seen at tendering etc to make sure everythings Ok, THis ships is not really disability friendly. The doors to the decks are old school. Big wooden ones with tough springs. Their were a lot of people with walking frames, mobile scooters etc. It is impossible for disabled or frail people to open these doors without assistance Unlike the more modern ships which have automatic doors so keep that in mind. These doors even annoyed me. If the Horizine court is full there is an overflow area of tables on the outside deck next to the terrice grill but you have to open these damn doors to get thru. If you got handfull of plates is damn hard to do so. I wont go into the Destinations as this is a ship review not a destination review. I will say that the call to Willis Island was purely so that passengers could buy duty free Domestic cruises you usually cant buy duty free but Willis island is in international waters and a loophole allows the ship to call their and just stop for an hour so that passengers can buy duty free. All up we really enjoyed this cruise. Please consider that this ship is not for anybody under fifty. It is designed with the senior in mind. Very few young people or children were on board If you a raging alcoholic etc go for P and O australia.

Port Reviews

Willis Island

Purely at place ship called at to enable duty free purchase. You stop for an hour, Dont get off.

Port Douglas, Australia

Good place to take swim at public pool with its own artificial beach, otherwise typical tourist town. Take a tour inland/

Cairns

Try the Botanic gardens, nice place
