I chose this cruise for two reasons. 1st because it was round trip from Los Angeles. and 2nd so I could evaluate the cruise. I am a new Princess Commodore, and I wanted to be able to share my experiences on this cruise with future potential customers.

The convenience of Round Trip out of Los Angeles was the major reason we chose this cruise. The crew of the ship were absolutely wonderful !!, from our room steward Charlie, who made our room feel personal and welcoming, to the cruise director Mario, the assistant director Aaron, Baby Face bingo, Gabby, Vanessa & Mark. Our wait staff in the Portofino restaurant were excellent and very attentive. Remembering each person in our party's special likes and dislikes. The head waiter even brought me caramel syrup for my morning waffle at the buffet. Crafts were fun and Vanessa & Gabby were excellent instructors. The bed in our cabin was excellent. Charlie made a point of keeping our ice bucket filled and remembered we needed an extra towel for showering.

Overall, the food was not of the high quality that I remember Princess to have on prior cruises. And I was a bit disappointed in the appearance of the ship, the Star Princess, as the shower curtain in our cabin had mold around the bottom edge. The Women's public bathrooms were consistently under repair with many closed at any given time. It was important and reassuring to see crew constantly cleaning the public areas. Read more
