The dates and itinerary of this cruise fit our needs well. Prior to embarking on the seven-night cruise, our package included a full day in Fairbanks and a day in Denali National Park. We enjoyed the land-portion of the trip but those two days went blindingly fast.

Fairbanks is a slow-paced little town. Our museum at the University of Alaska was very informative and well worth the visit. We traveled to Denali by train which was scenic and enjoyable. Denali was beautiful.

We boarded the ship in Whittier, which is just outside of Anchorage. The weather, from Anchorage to Vancouver, our debarking port, was unseasonably sunny and clear. There was even one night where passengers that happened to be on the top decks after midnight saw the northern lights.
