Having been on over 30 Ocean and river cruises all over the World we wanted to spend more of our time and money in the United States. This cruise offered an interesting itinerary most of which we had never visited. We prefer small - medium size ships over the floating malls and their crowds.
The staff was excellent, friendly and very helpful, the meal selections good and varied and the sizes and quality outstanding. In addition to a refrigerator stocked with soft drinks and water in our cabin, mixed alcoholic drinks were available at lunch, dinner and all entertainment venues. The on board entertainment was very good and appropriate for our age group.
The ship and cabins are comfortable but dated and need to be updated and unless the ship is in port the Wi-Fi is poor to non-existent.
This was one of five of the top rated and priced cabins. It was on deck 3 port side just behind the bridge. We hoped it had a forward view but it does not. It has a nice size deck with table and two chairs with side view.
Pearl Seas literature does NOT show this but this cabin is different than the other four. Not only is it a different shape with a sitting area with two chairs and table in the "leg" but it is forward in the ship as apposed to mid-ship where the other four are located. This can be a factor if there are rough waters - which there were a couple of days / nights. What doesn't show is the window door configuration. This room has two nice size windows one of which can be slid open and a steel door between. The cabin was quiet and comfortable and is close to a stairwell. The only elevator is mid-ship.
While you pay considerably more for this grade cabin that (the cabin) is ALL you get extra. No robe, slipper, binoculars, fruit bowl, extra amenities or extra services.
