Cabin: Penthouse Suite with Balcony

After a very ordinary cruise with MSC on board the Seaside in April/May this year, my husband and I felt like we had come home to Princess on our 2 week cruise around Japan on the Diamond Princess in August/Sept. A week before departure, we received an email from Princess stating that we had been upgraded from our booked mini suite, to a Penthouse suite!

After an unsatisfactory embarkation (which I think was fault of the Yokohama passenger terminal authority, not Princess) we were very happy to find our suite (Caribe 415) to be spacious, clean and had a balcony double the normal size. The one off generous complimentary mini bar was very much appreciated.

As suite/Elite passengers we had many complimentary benefits such as free laundry, canapes and fresh fruit bowl in the suite, dedicated excellent wait staff in the Anytime Santa Fe dining room, canapes and discounted cocktails in the Skywalker bar every afternoon, and quick, no line up service at the Pursers desk.

Penthouse Suite with Balcony

Cabin S3

Being a suite, the cabin was spacious, with a separate sitting room to the bedroom. The bathroom was also roomy and had a spa bath. Complimentary one off mini bar was generous. Fresh fruit and canapes delivered daily to the suite. The bath towels, bed linen and complimentary toiletries were a superior grade to the balcony and mini suites.
