while I have no complaints regarding the staff and crew of the Jade,I do have serious complaints about the way we were treated by Scenic. There was no communication about the fact that the Jade did not make it to Budapest ,we had to phone despite Scenic having all our email addresses. On our first day we were bused to The Courtyard Marriott in Budapest,a third rate hotel with basically no facilities,a three star room, and a dreadful buffet meal with only one small glass of local beer allowed.Other passengers were accommodated in 5 star hotels which one would expect given the prices we paid.
The next day included the 'guide tour of Budapest 'excursion. This was basically a bus tour for four hours , with the only highlight being a brilliant piano and organ recital. No water was offered despite it being 35 degrees C.We were then subjected to a 5 hour bus transfer to Vienna to join the Pearl, NOT the Jade that had been booked. Our room was the same number as the room booked on the Jade but was quite a lot smaller, and had a tiny shower, Certainly not what you could call luxurious.
The balcony option may be a waste of money as many days we woke up to another ship moored alongside.
Response from FionaB, The Scenic Team
Jade cabin was good ,Pearl same number much smaller and less luxurious
