Our first Viking cruise was on the Danube River. It was great, so we decided to try the Ocean cruise. Good decision. The Viking Sun is a beautiful ship. We did the Homeland tour around the Baltic Sea, visitng many beautiful cities. If you like historic old towns, cobblestone streets, and beautiful mountains this is a great itinerary . Our cabin had plenty of space. The heated bathroom floor was nice.

Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly every day, even when large numbers of people returned from a tour.

Dining was a pleasure. The service was very good. If you don't take the special spirits package, you can still ask for a different wine. Usually they offer a house white or red, but I prefer a rose and was given it when I asked. The food was excellent. The World Cafe had excellent selections as a buffet. We were able to make 2 resevations for the Chef's Table and Manfridi's the first day on board in addition to the one we made prior to boarding. Read more
