We wanted to visit friends in Hamburg and this cruise left from Hamburg, so we were able to combine a nice visit of a few days followed by an enjoyable cruise.

This was our first NCL cruise and we felt the crew members on this cruise were very friendly and helpful, more so than on previous cruise lines we have used. Food was generally very good, although we were not fully aware that "dress up" nights were not scheduled and totally optional, so we would not bother packing those bulky clothes next time.

Our major complaint would have to be that we often experienced many of the food items in the buffet lines were often not hot, especially at breakfast. The company needs to find a better way to keep food hot and appetizing. This was not true for everything, but certain items were nearly always lukewarm at best, and as usual scrambled eggs were not "done" as we would have preferred.
