Given the limited selection at the time of my booking, I chose Carnival Glory because it has water slides (my kids definitely want them) and the price was within my budget. The moment I boarded the ship, I know I got what I paid for and regretted that I didn't book my trip sooner so that I could have more options.

1. Ship Layout is poorly designed.

- My first impression was the public areas are crowded. Given the capacity of the ship, the hallways should have been made wider. On one occasion, someone even fell off the stairs because the small lobby outside a restaurant was too crowded and the person had to stand at the stairs.

Cabin Review

Ocean View

We had an oceanview room and the size was decent, yet the furniture showed its age.

What disappointed me the most was there was an odor from the toilet, which smelled like pee. I had the janitor clean the toilet a couple times the first day and he also cleaned it everyday. The odor never went away. I believe it was because the flushing system is meant to be water-efficient such that it primarily relies on sucking the waste from the bottom; as a result, the wall of the toilet bowl was barely flushed.

Port Reviews

St. Thomas

Recommend it even for beginners.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

We hopped on a taxi and went to a park where the cruise sold an excursion for. It's much cheaper this way.
