We chose this cruise to explore the scenic Rhine River, especially the mid-Rhine castles. The German food and hospitality was excellent. What we hadn't expected was how beautiful Basel was. The whole city, but especially the Altstadt, was beautiful, the people were very friendly, the transportation was outstanding and the food was excellent.

The Vidar was well maintained and clean. It almost looked like it was brand new rather than three years old. The food was outstanding, the crew was friendly and helpful. Our stateroom was neat, clean and well appointed. Our room attendant did an excellent job. It was almost like he wasn't there except when you needed something or had a question.

The ports were well chosen and the excursions were very good to excellent. The small size of the ship allowed us to get to know some of the other guests much better than we ever would have on a larger ship.

Veranda Stateroom

Neat and clean. Spacious but not huge.
