We selected this cruise to celebrate my wife's recovery from terrible cancer treatment, a stem-cell transplant, and a subsequent infection that almost killed her (11 days ICU, full life support, Last Rites, the whole deal). Being a life-long golfer, we had to check off St Andrews on our list of places to see. Pre-cruise, we stayed at The Sofitel Grand Amsterdam for two nights. It was outstanding. Our friends were already booked on this cruise and they are frequent Celebrity guests, and always travel in suite class. We've sailed on the Eclipse before in a veranda cabin. In planning this cruise, we said, great, we’ll go, and we can enjoy dinner together. They said, no we can't, because with suite class we always eat in Luminae and never the MDR. The ship has a private dining experience (Luminae) exclusively for Suite guests. We bit the bullet and booked a Sky suite. The perks are wonderful, too numerous to list and almost excessive. Private dining room for breakfast, lunch and dinner; access to Michael's Club, which has a wonderful small bar and serves light sandwiches late in the afternoon after excursions when the Oceanview Cafe offers minimal service; Suite concierge service located in Michael's Club (terrific); Butler service (terrific); priority and escorted embarkation and disembarkation; expedited tender service if not on an excursion; Suite supervisor to ensure everything is perfect (terrific); and the four perks that came with our booking, Ship Credit; Free WiFi (better than last time and completely acceptable); Free Premium Drink Package (terrific); and Tips. We had dinner at 6:30pm in Luminae 10 of the 12 evenings with no wait and our "customary table for four". All were exquisite. Top shelf service, friendliness, and quality. Portions are small, so gaining weight is not a problem

Cabin Review

Sky Suite 2

Cabin S2

Our Cabin (2134) was handicap accessible. Only issue, and it is a big issue, is the cart noise from 3am to 2pm right above the cabin from the Oceanview Cafe. A white noise machine helped, but not enough. It wasn't the worst thing in the world, and Celebrity gave us a very generous offer for our troubles. Good size, more than ample storage. The overhang on the balcony is a bit of an eyesore. Future sailings for us on Celebrity will certainly be in a suite, but not on the 12th deck. I see on the new class of ships the Suite Class experience is in a separate section of the ship, a "ship within the ship", like The Haven on NCL. That will be nice.
