We wanted the best bang for our buck. An 8 day cruise that visits 4 destinations seemed like the winner. We stayed as Aurea guests.

General - be aware that there are 2 time changes. You gain an hour of sleep the first at sea day and lose an hour of sleep the second to last day. None of the clocks on the ship were correct until the middle of the day on the first day which meant everyone who woke up at “6” to go to the gym had to wait around for an hour because it was actually 5 am. With no food or coffee available yet, it was miserable. Additionally, People on this ship are not sanitary! The hand sanitizing stations are always off to the side and too easily ignored. No employees to force sanitizer makes for a perfect environment for viruses to spread.

I got sick - On day 3 of the cruise I started violently throwing up and got extreme diarrhea. On my way to call emergency, I collapsed to the ground. when emergency came they started sticking me with drugs. Due to the language barrier I had to let the foreign doctors do what they had to do. I ended up being transported to the hospital where they put an IV in me and wait to recover. I couldnt eat or drink for the next 48 hours as anything I put in would come right back out. They diagnosed me with indigestion, but after consulting with my boyfriend (a registered nurse) who accompanied me on the cruise he said it was clear that I had gastrointeritus. This is an Italian boat and people are here from many different countries. The fact that they do not prioritize cleanliness should have been a red flag from day one.

Port Reviews

Ocho Rios

Easy to find a taxi right outside the port. They’ll take you to any beach for a flat fee round trip!

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

We did stingray city on our own and saved 1 hour and 100 dollars. Highly recommend Rowansports on TripAdvisor to do this!!
