This was my first river cruise. We began in Paris with a city tour, then embarked from Remich, Germany to cruise the Mosel River, then cruised down the Rhine to Amsterdam. We stopped at many scenic towns, had time to tour, shop, and check out local restaurants.

The staff was very professional, the boat was clean, comfortable, and beautiful, and the scenery was amazing. The excursions were fun, informative, and while many were included, the ones that were extra were well worth it. The food on the boat was excellent. Our budget room far exceeded my expectations--much more space than I expected, both in the living area and bathroom. Most of the people on this cruise were 60-80, but there were several adult children traveling with their parents, and teen grandchildren traveling with their grandparents--it made for a nice variety. I felt like the staff really anticipated what would make for smooth, worry-free trip for all of the guests. I would definitely take an Avalon cruise again!
