We had an absolutely amazing time on this cruise! We went with another couple and they loved it too!
We flew into Fort Lauderdale the day of the cruise. Rookie mistake! The first leg of our flight was canceled so we drove to the connecting airport (a very long drive) and barely made it. Whew!! In reading other reviews, everyone suggests flying in the day before and staying in the city of departure. Lesson learned!
Embarkation was smooth and easy, as was disembarkation. Having your documents all in order and easily accessible helps A LOT!
Our oceanview cabin was clean and adequate in size for just the two of us. The bed was two twins pushed together but we were okay with it because it was EXTREMELY comfortable!!
We were in the front of the ship and it was quite turbulent at times. I'm unsure if this is related to the weather or the position of our room. Next time we'll try a different part of the ship.
Our steward was awesome and was very responsive when asked for anything.
This port is extremely beautiful and it is easy to spend all day there! We took a walk through a lovely park with beautiful flowers, drank beer at a bar, walked the beach with our feet in the ocean and shopped at some small boutiques in the port. For our first time there, there was no need to leave the port!!
We did take advantage of the Broadwalk on Hollywood Beach in Fort Lauderdale, Broward County. It is a gorgeous area with lots of shops, bars and of course, the ocean! It has everything anyone could want or need and is a 10 minute drive from the airport. I highly recommend it when visiting the Fort Lauderdale area!
This port is simply awesome! We were able to shop until we dropped! I got a beautiful necklace and earrings from one of the little shops. We bought all of our souvenirs here for the entire family at very reasonable prices. There are several pretty cool activities to do right in port and of course, the Duty Free shop was AWESOME! For our first time, there was no need to do an excursion, as the port itself had so much to do and so much to see!
