We wanted to do a Rhine cruise for our 40th anniversary but there was no availability because we did not book far enough in advance. We communicated several times with Viking representative (Bradley Tenorio). As we were talking one day, a room became available. It was an acceptable date and the room-type that we wanted, so we booked it with him immediately. I explained that I would like to include the flight but wanted to choose which flight it was. He said that for a fee we could do that so we did. When we finished with all business with him, he connected us directly to the department that books the flights - we agreed on an acceptable one and it was done. Perfect!
We also booked a pre-extension in Amsterdam and a post-extension in Lucern (upon Bardley's recommendation).
We are so glad that we booked everything through Viking. They picked us up at the airport, took us to our hotel, (Hotel Okura - an amazing hotel) a Viking rep was there to meet with us and help with anything we needed. At the end of the trip, they took our luggage from the ship, bused us to Lucern (Montana Hotel - Switzerland hotel of the year!) with a Viking tour guide explaining things on the way. Once at the hotel we met another Viking rep. (Maria) who was excellent. She took us on a walking tour of the city, booked dinner reservations and other outings that we chose to do. When they took us to the airport to depart, they even had a Viking rep. there to take us to our respective airlines to help us check in.
The cabin was clean and comfortable with a nice bed. It was small, but not as small as I had imagined. There was plenty of storage space so we functioned very well.
