My wife and I just celebrated our 50th Anniversary on a Western Caribbean cruise on the Norwegian Getaway. We celebrated along with 17 other friends and family members. Our cruise included unlimited drinks for the entire cruise and four nights of specialty dining. There were so many different dining venues to pick from on the ship that it was difficult to choose. We were able to make dining reservations for the entire group of 19 for four nights and the food was amazing. Our choices included Carney’s for fabulous steaks, La Cuchina for delicious Italian, Ocean Blue where I enjoyed King Crab as an appetizer and Lobster as my entree and last but not least Teppanyaki on our last night for a delicious meal. My wife and I added Le Bistro just for the two of us for an amazing French dinner. The crew of the Getaway went out of their way to help us celebrate our 50th Anniversary. They decorated our mini-suite and provided us with wine and champagne in our cabin. We also came back to our room one night to find chocolate covered strawberries and a spa gift card for my wife. Entertainment on the ship was abundant. One of our favorites was ‘Howl at the Moon’ a dueling piano show. I couldn’t begin to name all the available activities on the ship but there are many to choose from. The duty free shops had sales almost daily from up to 75% off for men’s and women’s designer watches, 60% off select diamond jewelry and much much more. The manager of the duty free shops was amazing and always had time to stop and talk to us. He is from Croatia and played a huge roll in making this cruise so special for my wife and I. From the bottom of our hearts ‘THANK YOU!!’ There were too many excursions to name available at each port but one of our favorites was Harvest Caye which is Norwegians private island. At the age of 71 I paddle boarded for the first time in my life and didn’t fall off. We snorkeled in Roatan and visited the Chacchoben ruins in Costa Maya. This was a cruise we will always remember! Thank you Norwegian!! It was our first cruise on your cruise line but won’t be our last.

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MA

Our cabin was great. Our cabin steward, Tortook, was fantastic and could not have taken better care of us. I was amazed by the size of the bathroom in our cabin and I loved the shower.
