MSC Magnifica. Our party of five travelled on the 25th June from Southampton. Our experiences over the two weeks has left us reeling from the catalogue of diabolical service and procedures we endured whilst hoping to have a fun family holiday.

The food was atrocious. Meals came served Luke warm with little taste and often meat was chewy or over cooked. The choice on menus were very limited and when asked for anything that wasn’t on the menu for example mash potato or gravy we met with difficulty. We had a two year old in our party and to get a basic meal together for her was a challenge everyday. By the second night we had the attention of the Maitre De who attempted to deal with your food issues but could not improve on the repetitive pork , and fish presented each evening in different guises. The waiters were rude and impudent. We went to the restaurant around 8am for a served breakfast and asked for a two table, the waiter stood and laughed at us for asking for a two table.On walking out of the restaurant we saw the maitre de who asked if we were ok that morning, we told him what had happened And he held his head In his hands and couldn’t believe how poorly we had been treated.

The service in the bars to get a drink was also negligible. Waiters walked past and were selective in their service. After waiting over twenty minutes on most occasions we normally had to go physically to the bar to request drinks or the attention of a waiter. We spoke to the head of bar services whilst onboard and they advised they were severely understaffed and unable to cope with customer demand for drink service. He apologised but advised nothing could be done to correct this. Read more
