I had been dreaming of an Alaskan cruise for years. We finally decided to go for it this summer. It did not disappoint. And I'm really glad I chose NCL for the trip. While I've only cruised on NCL, I can't imagine going on another cruise line. The ships are beautiful, and I've always been impressed by how well the ships are kept clean. Additionally, they are so well organized for getting people on and off the ships, getting the luggage to the rooms, etc.

When we booked the cruise, we considered a balcony room, but given the cost difference between the balcony and window room, we chose the window room. And I'm happy we did. First, we were rarely in the room. Second, the window was a lot bigger than I expected. Third, there was a big enough window sill in the room that I could enjoy looking out and seeing the beautiful scenery. We were also happy with the size. I was expecting it to be a lot smaller than it actually was.

For dining, we did a combination of specialty dining and the main dining rooms. The specialty restaurants are AMAZING! Especially Cagneys. Teppanyaki was so much fun. The chefs were so entertaining. If you have the option to get the Specialty Dining promo package when you book your cruise, definitely do it. It'll give you a great opportunity to enjoy 3 of the restaurants without having to pay the extra cost. I will say, desserts on the ship are not the best, but then when it comes to my sweets, I am a bit picky. Read more
