We had to unfortunately cancel our original cruise because of health problems so this Cruise was very much last minute for us as we like to book well ahead to get the cabin we want. We enjoyed the Baltic the last time we were there 8 years ago and thought it would be good to visit again.

Having read several reviews earlier we were a little apprehensive but were pleasantly surprised. Britannia is a beautiful ship with modern tasteful décor - there is far more space on this ship and it isn't difficult to find a quiet spot if needed and we found the majority of staff very pleasant. and helpful,

The lifts midship were a nightmare - a very bad design error not to have stairs also for those who were able to use them - we did miss the glass lifts on the Azura and Ventura. The Crows Nest was our favourite, but it could be difficult to get a seat after a late dinner. The Glass House and The Limelight Club were also well worth the extra.

Cabin Review

Cabin GA Balcony with sofa

We managed to get a GA balcony cabin midship on F deck with a sofa which was fine - OK the bathroom was small, but manageable! The bed was very comfortable, there was plenty of storage space and our cabin steward, Antonio, looked after us very well. The downsides were the ridiculously small balcony - surely it would have been better to take a few more inches off the cabin - and also what we hadn't known was that there was a smoking area two decks below which was OK when sailing but not when stationery - we were also surprised to find that if you looked to the left of the balcony part of your view was slightly obstructed by the lifeboats on the next deck which things are worth knowing when booking a cabin!

Port Reviews

Rostock (Warnemunde)

A very pleasant port with good shops, bars and restaurants.

Helsinki

We took the Hop On Hop Off bus which was really good as the weather was miserable!

St. Petersburg

We have spent time in St. Petersburg before and took a private tour so we saw a great deal in the 3 dayswe were there.

Tallinn

We love Tallin - it has a great atmosphere - it also has a very good Hospital as I found from personal experience!!

Stockholm

We took the Hop On Hop Off bus again.

Copenhagen

Hop On and Hop Off buses always a good idea.

Skagen

A lovely port but not what we expected as it seemed purpose built - it was very lively as there was a music festival going on which was fun.
