We choose the Med. for practical reasons, such as a relatively short flight to Rome, as well as chances of nice Summer weather. Celebrity is not cheap but nice. So I think this has value for money but cheap it is not.

We arrived at the airport in Rome and was met by Celebrity staff, was guided to a buss and we were on our way on the roughly 1 hours drive to the cruise terminal. The check in and boarding took no time at all and we were on our way on board. As we came in roughly around noon our staterooms were ready at once. We love the sunset veranda staterooms for the view, and mostly quiet area. The only times you hear noise here is when we dock in the morning. Our stateroom attendant, Jaime, was great.

Food, we visited MDG, Murano, Tuscan Grille, Lawn Bar Grille, and al Bachio (coffee shop) as well as most of the bars on board. Service was outstanding in all outlets. Food as well. Our servers in the Main restaurant, Morales, Russel, Carlos were fantastic, it was also nice to see Server Mario that we knew from last year. Aldo in Lawn bar Grill is also great. I have only one little question about specialty coffees, in al Bachio they are normally good, but in busy times they cheat a little and the milk is not steamed as well as it should be, and I would hope that the staff in all outlets know how to steam millk, that is not evident from what I see around.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 1

Cabin C1

I love all the storage space and the layout in this stateroom, and the view as we face aft. Also a quiet location except when the ship docs you will here and feel the vibrations from the azipods. Also great to have a shower with a sliding door and no curtain.

Port Reviews

Rome (Civitavecchia)

For us just a transfer port on and off the ship. Transers were OK

Taormina (Messina)

Pleasant city that you can easily walk through to see the sights in the down town area.

Malta (Valletta)

We have been to Valetta before, it is a great city, firsttimes should really explore this city. We went this time to the historic and walled city of Mdina, accessable by local bus, and easy to navigate on your own. A great choice not too crowded, and an interesting place.

Rhodes

We went to Khalia spa, really only a beach som 9 km from town. The place was OK, but not worth travelling to there are beaches closer and none of them seemed too busy. At the spa area you have to pay to get in, add that to an expensive taxi fare...

Santorini

We bought tickets to the water taxi to Oia, with a return by bus to Faro. Made for an easy and good day. Oia is really pretty, and worth a visit. Doing it this way, where we were let off in Faro close to the ropeway on return was good.

Athens (Piraeus)

If you want to see Acropolis get a shore excursion, it is possible to do on your own, but then you need to stand in line to buy tickets, while the tours are given priority. Piraeus is not a bad alternative a pleasant city as well.
