We chose this cruise line as we heard it was one of the best for an Alaskan adventure and I read that the food was excellent. Alaska was AMAZING! It didn’t matter what cruise ship you were on to see the majestic beauty of this state. However, when you pay a lot of money for a cruise, you expect certain things. Let’s start with the embarkation process...it was top notch. Seamless and super easy to check in and get on board. Our stateroom was smaller than I have previously had but our balcony is where we spent most of our time. Our room was clean, we had a lot of closet space and the bed was super comfy. The food was not what I was expecting, how it won Food and Wine in 2011 is beyond me. The dining room wasn’t awful, it wasn’t great but not awful, but sometimes, you just don’t have time to sit for dinner for 90 minutes each sitting. The buffet was absolutely GROSS. I’d rather eat at my daughters college dorm than on this ships buffet. The extra food options like the cafe, pizza place or the hamburger stand were not worth writing home about either. Stale buns that were hard as rocks and very bland pizza. Now, for entertainment...we didn’t see much as far as theater shows, but they didn’t have anything to see that was advertised or showcased well. They had a comedian who was pretty funny, some musicians who were decent. Their main area for live entertainment called “The Piazza” was so small, it couldn’t fit anyone so you were crowded and stuffed like sardines for anything showcased there. As for excursions...phenomenal! The tour desk did a great job at handling last minute changes and such. Getting off board and onboard again was also very easy.

Would I go on this trip again, yes...just not on Princess Cruise Lines.
