My sister and I took this cruise because our family came over to Minnesota from Norway. Our great grandfather was from Alesund so we wanted to see what the country was like. I know why they chose Minnesota as below the arctic circle it looks like Minnesota. Above the Arctic Circle it is a vast wilderness, not many people, no trees, and cold, but interesting to visit once.
We flew in to Copenhagen a day early to try to adjust to the time change. Stayed at the Radisson Park Inn about 15 minutes from the airport. It was 90 that day, the warmest day of our entire trip. It snowed twice while we were in Norway.
We boarded the ship on Sunday, waited about 15 minutes to embark, and since it was almost 1:00 we went to our floor, cabin 9066 and waited for a few minutes and were allowed in. We immediately met Neuman our cabin steward who was great the entire trip. We did a back to back and this was the first leg. The second was a Baltic cruise. Will write another review for that. We cruised Monday and arrived in Geiranger Tuesday. We got off and boarded a Hop On Hop Off bus and toured the town. We purchased our passes on line with Stromma for all our Hop On Hop Off rides, you get a discount and take 3 the fourth is free.
Lots of room to store things, nice to have the balcony to check the weather and see if we needed jackets for our excursions. It is the typical cruise ship bathroom bring your own shampoo and other items. We had a slight problem with the shower drain, but it was fixed immediately and they were extremely nice about it.
Used Hop on Hop Off bus right next to terminal.
City tour bus right by ship.
Loved the cable car ride and the Cathedral.
