Arrived in Anchorage the day before the cruise and stayed at the Voyager Inn. Went to Simon and Seafort’s restaurant for lunch. Had the ½ crab sandwich and soup which was excellent. Walked into town and decided to take the Trolley City tour which was ok. Had dinner at Fletcher’s restaurant in the Captain Cook hotel located across the street from the Voyager Inn.

Took the Alaska Train the next morning from Anchorage to Whittier. Very nice train ride and very scenic. Recommend train over a bus ride. A moose got on the track and the train slowed down until he cleared. Train took us right next to the Star Princess The train also took our luggage from the train to the ship.

Embarkation was smooth and fast. Had lunch in the buffet which was not crowded as it seemed that the train had some of the first passengers to board.

The cabin was very nice. Lots of room with two TVs. Nice having a bathtub which allows a whole lot more room for showering. Room steward Edgar was very nice and attentive. Enjoyed views of the glaciers from our balcony.
