From The moment that you step on-board you move into a bygone age of service the staff work tirelessly to ensure that ever guest feels special. Where nothing that is too much trouble and the guests whims are catered for. from getting a drink to advise on the next port of call of events back home. The cabins were a lot bigger that I was expecting with space to relax if required. The bathroom is small but has everything you need. There is plenty of cupboard space to hang and store you suites and dresses there are a set of draws for everything else. We stored our cases under the bed where there was loads of space. We were a little worried about the amount of plugs in the cabin reading loads of stories and reviews on how bad ships are for such things. There were in fact 5 usable plugs in the room more than you find in most hotel rooms. We made use of the ones for the bedside lights to charge mobile phones just like I do at home. There is a good TV in the room that shares information about the ship and has music and TV channels to watch tip if you are staying in an inner cabin then the channel showing the view from the bridge is a must as they drop the lights at night so you are just left with a dark screen but with be light again in the morning showing you what the weather is doing. We found that the food on board was of a good standard with something for everyone we always found something to eat in the SAHARA & L’OASI . We enjoyed eating in the Quattro Venti Restaurant with its more formal setting and full waiter service. There was only one formal night whilst we were on board where nearly everyone dressed up in their finest and looking great. I know some people dislike this part of cruising but I think it shows the best in people that they participated in the spirit of days gone by sailing The entrainment on the ship is great from the shows to the singers and bands the whole ship rocks to the vibe of happy guests. The bar staff and waiters were not as good as with other ships we have been on and there was an obvious lack in training this we feel was the result of MSC ;s new ships being brought on line the level of training and service on the remaining fleet has suffered but as we were on board they were working on this work tirelessly to ensure that ongoing training was carried out. We had renovations about how much we would enjoy the whole experience of life at sea. Everyone in our party loved it and were asking when they could do it again. Book with confidence that you will have one of the best holidays you have ever had on board.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin O2

We stayed in an outside plus cabin 5034 which is in the middle of the ship on the port side. The cabin was of a good size with space to move around there is a drop down bunk bed that make the 3rd bed if needed, there was more storage space than I thought from looking at the pictures and videos online, there is ample hanging space and with the 4 large draws you should find a place for everything. We store the cases under the bed as nothing spoils a holiday than having to look at your cases reminding you that it will be over soon enough. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room the tea is Yorkshire tea and the coffee this is topped up twice a day which I great the cups are on the small side but you can borrow one from the buffet you will need to replace it every day as the steward will take them or bring your own. There are 5 usable plugs in the cabin more than in most hotel rooms I have stayed in. there is one each side of the bed for the bedside lights which are great for charging your mobile phone over night all but one socket remain on when the lights are turned off. There is a TV in the cabin that have been criticized for the choice of channels that it has we found them ok but I always travel with a TV dongle and films on a USB flash drive both of which worked well on the TV if you are travelling with small children a pre-loaded USB drive is a must as it will store those shows that give you a little peace to get ready. The room is cleaned several times a day by the steward. There is a turn down service as well that is nice touch. The beds were comfortable and we slept well on them. The bathroom is a little small but had everything we needed the storage space again is better than I thought the shower has 2 heads on fixed and one hand held both work very well with plenty of hot water and power. Overall the cabin met and exceeded our expectation. And being the middle of the ship was never far from anything.
