Our vacation began with two nights in London. We rented a flat on Airbnb just around the corner from Paddington station. Paddington station is like an indoor mall with shops and restaurants and of course public transportation. When we arrived at Heathrow airport we purchased Oyster cards. One for each of us. You can find videos on YouTube on how this works. Basically, you load money on the card and use it for all public transportation in London. If you stay in zones 1 and 2, the maximum cost is 6 pounds a day for the tube. Heathrow is zone 5. We took the tube from Heathrow to Paddington station and that day we were charged 12 pounds maximum. The buses have their own daily maximum which is less but we used the tube only. The nice thing is that before we left Heathrow the deposit and anything left on the Oyster card can be refunded to the credit card you used to purchase it. You do not get cash back.

We took National Express coach from London to South Hampton. The coach was nice and the service was good. We took a taxi from the coach station in South Hampton to the cruise pier. It is a very short distance. I think it was six pounds.

We chose this cruise because we really enjoyed a previous cruise on the Divina and we liked the European itinerary. I was hoping for a similar experience as we had on the Divina but this ship does not live up to the Divina in my opinion. It is smaller, less elegant, and has very few activities during sea days. I did like the ship as it was tastefully decorated and kept in good condition. The employees were wonderful. They always had smiles and worked very hard to please. This was especially true of our room steward, Suli. He was amazing. We booked another cruise while on board. Marko at the future cruises desk was wonderful. I think we took up most of his lunch break booking the cruise but he kept saying it was ok. We spoke with him several times during the cruise and he was friendly and informative. He is very good at his job and I was amazed at how he switched languages in a split second when someone asked him a question.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin O2

We were happy with this cabin. It was a good central location and quiet except for the occasional young boys running down the hall late at night. Where are their parents? There was plenty of storage and the room was kept perfect by our amazing room steward Suli. Thank you Suli
