Had taken a river cruise on the Rhine many years ago and decided it was time to try it again. Friends and reviews kept pointing to Viking. SO we chose late fall and a destination neither my husband nor I had been to before - Bordeaux. It was lovely! We were well taken car of from the time we signed up for the cruise until we landed back home. Viking is attentive to every detail - they answer questions quickly and want to take care of you! The food was good, the stops were daily but with field trips of which you can choose to participate or not and with only 180 or so on board, it is a small and relaxed travel experience. I perhaps was overzealous in signing up for the optional field trips but they were well with the time and expense. I think through Viking, we were able to experience places we would not have found on our own. The cabins are comfortable - but we were really only in them to sleep. We would definitely choose Viking again. The only question is where to go next time?
