The whole time we were on board we were bombarded with the benefits of using Royal Caribbean’s excursions. We were ‘Blackmailed’ into using their excursions by being told we could not get off the boat in time to see the Seoulunless we used heir transport which was proven to be wrong once we docked, some people even cancelled pre-booked trips on the strength of what we were told. It cost 65$ each for a 20 mile road trip which took 90mins by bus into Seoul centre we had 4 hours in the city then the bus back. Similarly it cost 25$ for a 15min bus ride to an obscure town in Vietnam instead of what should have been Ho Chi Min city which was cancelled prior to us boarding the ship. Drinks on board eye wateringly expensive - bottle of lager 7$ + 18% tax, small glass of very mediocre wine, circa 10$ + 18% tax, spirits12$ + tax. Food was plenty full but bland if you fancied a steak or something out of the ordinary there was an extra cover charge or you had to pay 40$ - 50$ for the speciality restaurants. The above was a pity as the boat and service staff were excellent. We came off the cruise feeling we had been ripped off. When we reported this to our agent (Planetcruise/Iglucruise), we got back a very condescending reply. Far from recommending Royal Caribbean, I would suggest they be avoided
