We took the plunge and took our first River cruise with Viking in April. Overall it was an amazing trip with a first-class ship, service, crew, and ports. We can't think of anything they could have done better. From embarkation (right to our room then a buffet to eat) to the departure-all done so very well by Viking.

Prestige was in for an overhaul in 2017 and it showed. Refurbished rooms and common areas shown with new furnishings. The crew was amazing and all were there to make us as comfortable as possible. We enjoyed getting to know the crew and yes, had our favorites.

We've ocean cruised extensively but loved all the more relaxing touches. Little things like a treat and warm towel when we returned to the ship after tours, to the water bottles when we left. Evening entertainment like singers, a lecture by a university prof and of course the port talks for the next day. Read more
