We chose this cruise because our friends we sailed with were told it is a fantastic cruise. The cruise started very badly in Singapore. We were informed to be at the ship by 1230 hrs which we were but unfortunately we were still sitting around the boarding area at 1600 hours. Once embarked we found our cabin to be everything we expected. We found most meals to our liking, the staff more than helpful. On board activities were aimed towards the young persons on board not aimed at the older generation. The night time entertainment left a lot to be desired, most were just so so. We could not watch a movie at night at the theatre as they had other shows on as stated previously. We did find a good drinking hole called the bar with a one man band at night and this tended to be our hangout when we had nothing to do. Again the staff were very helpful and very keen to serve with nothing being to much trouble. Port and shore excursions were horrendous to try and book, with the bookings filling very fast. Be advised to book all your tours the day you board to ensure you are on them or if you leave it too late in the cruise to book you missed out. The ship put out a flyer every day and it advised of tours available but no mention of tours being booked out. If the flyer had that information in it, it may have saved some people having to wait in line to be disappointed. We booked the cruise 11 months in advance only to be told on board that we would not be going to Ho Chi Min City because the port never had a berth for the ship. This was the biggest disappointment of the cruise. Surely a cruise line of this size would have every port pencilled booked and then confirmed well before sailing. No excuses are good enough to make that gaff right. If you went on tour again you would line up for hours to get to the appropriate bus. Every thing you did cost a fortune and you had to form a line and wait with no respite for the people who can not stand around hour on end because there is no where to sit or rest your legs. Luckily we had no children. Never again with Royal Caribbean.
