I wanted to do something “big” and fun for my 50th birthday. Several people suggested a cruise. We had only cruised once, many years ago but thought, why not? What a great choice! Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived.
Our room was clean and our steward was attentive. There was plenty to do on the ship and in port. Disembarking at each port went smoothly and was very accessible for those with mobility issues or kids. We did a Tour of Mayan ruins that was well worth it. Bring old sneakers if you choose this one. (Our shoes were a mess afterward). I sat by the pool most days and never had trouble finding a chair. We dined at almost every available restaurant and the food was excellent. I recommend splurging on the specialty dining...so worth It! Le Bistro was my favorite. Best dessert and coffee ever! We attended a few shows and they were all good. We enjoyed “Wine Lovers, the musical). We had such a great time, we are already planning where to cruise next. My tip if you travel with others that will be in different rooms...get a cheap small white board to clip to your cabin door. You can leave each other notes of where you will be. If you can text great but if you don’t get the internet package, this is great way to stay in touch.
Our cabin was comfortable and offered plenty of space for two. The bed was comfortable. Our cabin steward was great. He was very attentive.
What a beautiful area. The veiw as we got close to port was lovely. The shopping village offered plenty of options. The store keepers were very welcoming.
Rather commercialized. The shops were all the same and store keepers were very vocal trying to get shoppers into their stores.
