This was our first Viking river cruise, and will not be our last. The cities visited were beautiful and fascinating, and all the excursions were great, save one. The food was very good, but not quite as delicious as the ocean cruises we have been on, although we liked the fact that local dishes were on the menu daily, along with some staples like roast chicken, fish, and steak. The ship is every modern and up to date. The service was superb throughout the ship. The evening entertainment was a "piano man" and his computer, which got pretty boring quickly. On two nights, Viking brought in local entertainers, which was fine if you like Opera.
We were very disappointed with the value realized during the "Hueringen Evening" excursion, which was supposed to be a local celebration of the wine harvest. Poor wine, little food, and very poor entertainment. When we complained, Viking tried to make it right. Don't let me negative comments scare you off, I still rated it a 5/5, and we WILL be returning.
Plenty of space. Under-bed luggage storage. Heated bathroom floor. Adequately sized shower (not large). On the bottom floor, the window is about 5.5 feet off the floor, making it difficult for shorter people to see out (the main thing you see is the surface of the water). Make sure you draw your curtains when docked next to another Viking ship!
