My life goal is to visit at least half of the countries of the world (98). When I saw this cruise advertised, it had four countries in Central American that I had never been to, Honduras, Belize, Nicaragua and Guatemala. Early in 2018 (I booked in August), prior to sailing we were told that Honduras was taken off the itinerary, then a few weeks later they decided to bypass Guatemala. In its place were two more stops in Mexico and one more sea day. I was very disappointed, had airlines scheduled and a hotel booked for a three day pre trip stay in New Orleans which would of cost me money if I cancelled the cruise. I decided to keep the trip thinking that it would be very picturesque to sail out of the “Big Easy” along the Mississippi into the Gulf. Wrong! The ship was more than four hours late leaving port after eight p.m. in the dark. Other than some light sources on the shore, we saw nothing. The first morning I woke up, I went into my bathroom to use the toilet. The configuration was such that the front of the seat was less than twelve inches from the wall. I will admit that I am 6’4” but the width of my backside was probably less than half the passengers on the ship. The point is, that to use that toilet, I had to sit “side saddle” which was very uncomfortable. I contacted the cruise staff who told me that there was no other place to move me to. In a little note they apologized to me, gave me a bottle of wine and a cheese plate (an effort to bung me up?). My inside room was the smallest I have ever encountered on a ship which was made even smaller by a bunk bed attached to the wall. It took me several days to realize a padded keg was a chair. Another disappointment was the constant “nickel and diming” that the ship was charging for everything. They even charged for a behind the scene tour aboard the ship, which I have done for free on two other ships. Their Cruise Director, Vincent was a voice that we heard way to often very often flogging money making scenarios from the ship in his loud shrill voice numerous times during the day for the entire cruise. Now for the good news, the lesser staff were fantastic including the porters, busboys, waiters, cleaners and all were super friendly. Definitely made my cruise much more enjoyable.

Too small plus the configuration of the toilet was designed by a very short person.
