Anthem is the most advanced and newest ship we have been with Royal Caribbean. The ship size and technology were the reasons we chose Anthem for the spring break trip. The ship is impressive. It was huge, well designed interior, spacious stateroom, large stateroom bathroom, and plenty of closets.

We have a great waiting staff Claudia at Chic dining and she was very attentive and tried her best to accommodate our needs, which could be a lot with three families and five school age kids. However, I feel the staff service attitude was more like I am doing my job, not like we are so glad you chose Anthem kind of attitude. Maybe I asked too much? But we had better staff service experiences in Royal International ships in the past. Our best service experience is Disney cruise but that's not a fair comparison because different price point.

I feel the cruise director part has most room for improvement. The major entertainment programs, three show requiring advance booking, seem very expensive to produce. However, they were confusing and not as entertaining as I expected. Several leading signers were VERY good. So good that I can't believe they perform at cruise ship. The two comedians we average or below average. Although the ship has two cruise directors, they apparently didn't work hard to put as many programs in daily compass. I don't mind pay for fee program, but there were not many programs and I was very disappointed especially considering this is such a large ship and it has two cruise directors.
