I chose this cruise because it was recommended. It was a late purchase so I didn't have much time to explore others. I wasn't looking for a party cruise nor was I looking for a sleepy cruise. A balance in between would have been nice. To be fair, there appeared to be many other passengers who were having a great time. I saw them mainly around the pool area drinking, watching t.v or listening to the DJ spin music. I also saw them enjoying their vacation in the casino as I made my way through. I wasn't impress with either of those activities. I tried to play bingo until i realized it was going to cost me. I even wanted to do pilates until I saw the $$ sign next to the event on the brochure of daily activities. I simply was left unimpressed with my experience on the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas, though not by the total experience. I met some really nice people from all over the world. I didn't get the impression that the staff was being nice because they were simply doing their job. I had some real genuine exchanges with the staff that left a nice impression on me and my family.
This is not a duty free port! I had to pay taxes in Texas in the amount of $10.00 for Rum purchased in Jamaica.
