This was our first time on HAL, having been on Norwegian and RCCL recently. The majority of the passengers were our age, 60s. Not a great spot for teens or kids, but sure didn't miss them. Other passengers were so polite and well mannered. It was such a pleasure.
Our verandah cabin was smaller than the other 2 lines, and very brown - curtains, couch, rug, walls, just kind of monotone. The cabin was kept immaculate, but the verandah was never cleaned. I did not like stepping in and out of the bathtub. Who needs it? A walk in shower would have been nice. I did not like the door onto the verandah instead of sliders, though they have thus solved the problem of people leaving their door open.
I liked that the muster was where your actual lifeboat is. I did not like the other 2 lines where you met in a common room and then proceeded to the boat, though you did not practice that part. The chances of everyone not running up on deck in a real emergency would be slim. At least now you know where your lifeboat is.
Small. Hard to move around. Enough storage. Very uninspired décor. Extremely comfortable bed. Bathroom had a tub, hard to step in and out but lots of grab bars. Verandah small, not kept very clean though the room was kept immaculate.
Well thought out with hard surfaced paths and shelters to eat the picnic lunch under. Cute chickens wandering around.
We were going snorkeling but the wind was blowing hard the afternoon we were there so they let us change to this kind of overall high spots of Aruba. Comfortable bus and bathrooms at most places.
