We like to travel out of New York or New Jersey for convenience as we can drive there in one day. We travel with our two almost adult teens. The cabin was a little cramped for four, but we managed and the storage space was really great! I was surprised at the amount of storage for four people. The balcony was small, but I expected it to be. Embarkation and disembarkation was very simple and quick out of Cape Liberty. We have had issues out of Manhattan so we opted for Cape Liberty and it was much easier. The ship is big, but I would say lacking a little for options for grown teens. (17 and 18) The 18-21 mix and mingles were listed, but nobody showed up and it was spring break! I would have thought a crew member would be there to facilitate something, but that didn't happen. If you have younger kids or tweens, there is plenty to do. The usual things are going on like belly flop contests, family fued, newlywed games etc. If you are looking for something quiet and fun, this was not the time to go. Our ship was completely full and so we could never get a lounge chair in the solarium or by the covered pool area. We just gave up. It was too cold even in Florida to do much. There was at least on day in the Bahamas that was warm, but that was it. So, without being able to get a place to hang out in the solarium, there was no other option for pool time. That was disappointing. Our dining staff was the best I have ever experienced. They really made the other issues, not that bad. The food in the Solarium was a much better option than Windjammer for the sheer fact that it wasn't so crowded. Also, room service food was by far the best on the ship, but you have to pay for it. I remember when room service was free! Oh, the good ole days. We Will Rock You show was so good we went to see it twice! The Gift was ok (kind of weird) and Spectra's Cabaret was interesting. There was a magician/comedian show that was great also. Overall it was an ok vacation, but the weather just didn't get very warm and the ship was packed. I personally haven't sailed before when the ship was completely full so I will probably opt for a different time of year. This is our third time out of the New York/New Jersey area so we are kind of tired of the Port Canaveral and Bahamas itinerary. Shore excursions are just quite expensive for what you get. The best was the Pearl Island Beach with lunch. It is well worth it. The food was absolutely excellent! It was better than some of the food on the ship. Again, the weather was bad so they had to cancel the snorkeling. We also had to abort Cococay because it was too rough for the tenders. They are building a pier so that shouldn't be an issue too much longer. We were disappointed because we like our beach time, but I'm quite sure we would have been freezing! It was 65 and windy in the Bahamas! How does that even happen?? LOL
A little cramped for four, but ok. Storage space was excellent! Milton our room steward was awesome! Two teen girls plus parents, we were messy!
