My husband and I were intent on seeing the Northern Lights and this cruise delivered! On the first night of the light show, we just didn't know how to look for them and we gave up too soon. But for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th showings, we knew what to do and how to look and on the 2nd showing especially, the dances performed by the lights were stunning. Everyone was in awe. It was especially wonderful when the captain turned off the exterior lighting so that we could get a better look. The lights made the entire voyage memorable. In addition to the lights were the fun excursions - we participated in 7 of them (we wanted some "down" time as well during our 12 night cruise); it was the perfect amount for us. The staff is stellar ... kind, helpful, knowledgeable, fun, and friendly. And the food ...... oh my goodness that food .... I'm sad to say I now have to go back to my own cooking. My husband is a pescatarian and I'm a vegan and the chef accommodated our dietary requirements with delectable dishes - my mouth waters just thinking about all that yumminess! Don't expect shows and all that stuff you normally get on cruise lines - this isn't that kind of a cruise - and that was perfect for us. No schmaltz - just a perfect cruise with a great staff, delicious food, and Northern Lights. Sheer perfection! I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
