We have cruised carnival, holland, princess and norweign and wanted to try another. Went with another couple who also have cruised others. First timers for RCI. The common areas and promenade are beautiful. Ship layout of common areas is spectacur. Loved their 24/7 coffee shop on the promenade. Food was great to ok. Better than carnival esp the buffet choices. Rooms were dated compared to carnival. Was not as clean as we would have liked. dusty in non obvious places. Loved their funky decor and artwork everywhere on the ship. Stairwells were really nice and easy to use. Getting around was intuitive and flowed well. Casino had great choices to play. Water areas were great. Amazing for kids for sure. Pools were nice. Too bad the staff were uninviting at every turn and every day. It was unnerving. Almost like being surrounded by robots. There was obviously a class order that seemed to be in place depending on their work positions.

The reason we will never cruise Royal carribean again is the vibe and negative energy of the ship and majority of staff on the ship. There were a few kind, honest, personable people but they were very very few. Kudos to those few who were there for the passengers and liked their jobs. San in customer service, Juanjuan in dining and the bar staff level 11 port aft. (Across from kids spray area) were all exceptional.

It seems staff were trained to say certain things but could not critically think through their work or know how to honestly relate to people. They didn’t listen or seem interested in connecting. As a passenger, I felt I was an inconvience to staff by being there. Have never felt that on a cruise before. Other people we chatted with were not happy either. Other couple we were with felt it too although their steward was good. Ours was horrible. We became afraid to know our steward actually had access to our room. When we asked for someth8ng. He always questioned why we needed that. “Why do you need ice?” “ I’ll see if I can find some”. When asked for more than one towel, “ Why do you need more towels. I left you one.” He would only leave one because he said it was policy that the towel animal was one of our two towel allowed and we needed to use that! Ahhh, nope. Won’t do that. So I had to go in hall and take towels from a cart every day. One day he left NO towels. When I asked him why no towels, he denied leaving none. I tried to explain my discomfort and issues and they were quick to say, “ we will bring ice, we will bring more towels”. They didn’t listen to the issue or my concerns. It had become more than just no towels. Super weird experience and I don’t want to spend 7 days again in a negative energy place. The work vibe needs to change. Not sure how this company has created such a weird environment considering the ship is so beautiful.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin H

Decore was dated. Room small compared to past experiences. Window was smaller view than we expected. Bed really hard. Shower was great. Tv screen was sprayed with soda or something and was never cleaned. Layout of rooms esp interior ones were pretty cool design locati9n with inside insides over looking promenade. Cool.

Port Reviews

Cozumel

This was a nice side of the port then what we have been to before. Long walk to taxi cue but ok. Very nice surroundings. We took taxi to paradise beach and azul beach.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Seven mile beach has some nice public areas. Beach is large. Water warm. Sand nice. Buses are only $2pp. Taxis reasonable. Either are convenient easy and safe. Didn’t like the turtle farm. Expensive for what is offered.
