Sail Date: Mar 2018
Cabin: Balcony

This is our 4th cruise with Princess and again, a fun time. We usually sail the Med but took our first Caribbean cruise to get out of the New England cold/snow. Onboarding was a breeze, our balcony cabin was all ready for us when we got on board. A note about cabins on Crown Princess, if you want the best balconies, make sure you are on deck 10 - Caribe. These balconies are twice the size of the rest. We did anytime dining for the first time (we usually do late seating) and since it was just the two of us, it worked perfectly. We never waited for a table and we never had to share a table. We made 4 stops: St. Kitts, lovely - go to Carambola Beach Club - very nice beach, Antiqua, our highlight of the trip, we went to Half Moon beach and it was wonderful, St Thomas - still needs alot of work and Grand Turk - what a dump. I am not sure why Princess bothers to stop at Grand Turk, it is a cespool of an island. Lowest point of the trip. Just one gross, disgusting bar after the next with abandoned houses all around. The ship's personnel again were top notch - shout out to the Cruise Director, Corey, we have not idea how he keeps the pace up all day long but the entertainment is truly fun and another highlight. Don't forget to hit Pub Lunch on the Sea day, Fish n' Chips always great with a pint of guinness. The ship has put in some "pop-up" restaurants that are worth passing on. The Main Dining Room is still the best choice. Disembarkment was a breeze as well. Princess does not have a good incentive right now to book another cruise (they use to have strong on-board credits to reserve - only $50 per person now) so I am considering looking at other ships as the Med itineraries are repetitive to what we have already seen.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BD

Loved our cabin - balcony was large and well-designed. Beds comfy, my only complaint, upgrade the TVs to flat screen on the wall as the newer ships have like the Royal Princess.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Stayed at the Marriott Courtyard in Ft. Lauderdale - very convenient

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

Go to Carambola Beach Club - you can get a lounge chair and umbrella and lunch.

Antigua

We tried to go to Jacqui O's Beach House but the water was rough and the island was crowded with too many ships in port at one time. Our cabbie took us 45 minutes away to Half Moon Beach and although a long drive, the beach was spectacular. Small restaurant that had outstanding burgers - really a fun day.

Grand Turk

This port needs to either be removed altogether or needs to invest in some money and fix the place, it was truly a dump. We went to Jack's Shack, where most of the locals were rude, swearing and smoking pot. The flies were infested everywhere. We walked back to Margheritaville which is also not good but at least a bit cleaner. All in all, Princess should either pick a different port or go to Princess Cay.
