We actually did B2B cruises Feb 24 and Mar 3. We chose these cruises for the many port days. There was 6 kids in our family group and they had a blast. Didn't go to any of the kid's clubs, there was plenty for them to do on the ship without the clubs. Some of the family need gluten free food and they found enough in the Windjammer. They could also order GF pizza and pancakes there. Tried the dining room a few times and even with ordering their GF meal the night before it still took 2 hrs to get .Kids don't want to wait that long. Food at the WJ was ok, we had no problems with it.
The kids loved all the activities including the flow rider, Rock wall, water slides, mini golf, pools etc. If you have a kid that is less than 42" make sure you bring swim diapers for him/her for the small water slide, even if they're potty trained. No one is allowed in that little yellow slide area of Splashaway Bay without swim diapers.
We only went to the evening entertainment a few nights but did enjoy the ice skating show and magician. Watched a few movies on the pool deck at night.
I shared this cabin with my 9 yr old granddaughter. We had the beds apart as twin beds. The cabin had new carpet, loveseat, drapes and bedding from the recent refurb. I will say that the mattress was hard. My granddaughter didn't mind but I did. Our stateroom attendant padded it as much as he could but when we got back to San Juan between cruises I went to Walmart and got a egg carton type foam. I have hip problems and it helped. Other than that we enjoyed our cabin, it was quiet, not too far from the elevators, loved the balcony and we had an awesome attendant.
The forts were awesome and Old SJ is very interesting.
