So before I write this review, I need to make it clear, I am reviewing this cruise ship for what she truly is, and by that I mean, I am going to review her based on the fact she is nearly 30 years old and much smaller than most modern day cruise liners.

The first part of the review will be on Charleston, SC and the embarkation process. I have cruised around 10 times on Carnival and Royal Caribbean, and I have to say the embarkation process at Charleston was by far the easiest I have ever been through. The pier was easily accessible, and hardly no wait. I am not sure if this is the case because of the small ship, or the workings of Carnival; either way, from the time we were dropped off at the street by our Uber, until the time we were walking on the ship was only 45 mins....which was awesome!

The ship itself if nicely kept. She has been recently dry-docked and renovated and it was obvious what was, and wasn't touched during the renovation. The Cruise ship still has that 90's feel with all the mirrors and pastel colors, but upgrades are noticeable. The lido deck renovations were very nice. The addition of the Guy's Burger Joint, Blue Iguana, Red Frog and the other bar (can't remember the name) is nice. The Panorama dinning was great, with me never having to wait in a line which was great. The only bad thing about this dinning room was the pizza area. I was traveling with a friend that has severe celiac disease, and the personnel working the pizza bar were really rude when he requested a gluten free pizza. The main dinning food was good...some nights were better then others. Most of the time I stuck to the steak on the menu. Sometimes the steak was nicely prepared, and other times it was very obvious the steak was sitting under a heat lamp for a while. The dinning room was recently updated, and it was done nicely. The dinning room no longer has the bright pinks and other pastel colors, rather some darker and more modern colorings which made it feel like a true 4 star dinning experience.

Cabin Review

Interior

Cabin 4A

The room was average for an interior room. I was traveling single this cruise and had the beds combined into a "king". The AC in the room was terrible! Never was cold and spent most of my night tossing and turning trying to stay cool.

The mattress was horrible as well. Some pullout mattresses have better quality. After 5 nights on these beds my back is killing me.

Port Reviews

Charleston

Great embarkation port! Very fast, easy and efficient port!

Nassau

We decided not to purchase an excursion through the ship; rather we used a taxi to go to a local beach and chill for the day.
