Booked this as a last minute deal - had wanted to try X and the 14 day itinerary was appealing including islands we had not seen before. DH and I are retired but active, looking forward to relaxing sea days and warm, sunny islands to explore.

Easiest embarkation ever - called Uber at 11 for pickup at our downtown hotel (Courtyard Brickell Ave) and were on board just before noon. We did enjoy the Elite status given for our RCCL Diamond, easy embarkation with no line. Instantly impressed to see the officers greeting us as we boarded, something we saw throughout the cruise which obviously started with Captain Leo and his senior staff. We had enjoyed a nice brunch prior to boarding so no need to fight for food - instead explored the ship starting on 15 to view the great Miami skyline and enjoy liquids at the Sunset Bar. We headed to Murano to make specialty reservations - pleasant area to wait but I did find Expressions Lounge too dark. Rooms were available at 1:30 and we arrived at cabin 1032 (interior) to find our bags at the door. Cabin was comfortable, very clean, and great for sleeping! Bathroom was well planned with plenty of storage. I had picked up flowers and wine to bring on board, Nolan our cabin attendant brought me a vase before I could even ask. That was the first of the excellent customer service we noted throughout the ship. Cabin location was sweet - tucked behind the forward elevators/stairwell, just two flights up to the Solarium and pool.

It was Super Bowl Sunday so we had a flawless sail away (rain had been predicted) at the Sunset Bar with some of our Roll Call. Then on to dinner at the Tuscan Grille, seated above the wake as the sun set. The meal and setting were the nicest of the specialty restaurants we had eaten in and let us know we were in for a great cruise. Over the two weeks we also enjoyed Murano(lovely classic dining with table side service) as well as 2 return visits to Tuscan Grille. After dinner we wandered up to the Super Bowl party in the theater - much energy and cheering!

Inside Stateroom 9

Cabin 09

Interior tucked behind forward elevator - never heard any noise from them. Also adjacent to staff stairwell, only saw any activity as bags were distributed on embarkation. This interior is a bit more square with plenty of space to move around though there is a table that is only useful for placing the suitcase to pack/unpack. Plenty of storage for our belongings in the stateroom and bathroom. Nicely dark so we slept very, very well.
