Everything about the Grand European was superior, most especially the level of service provided by the crew. We had wonderful meals, fascinating ports of call and made wonderful friendships. We began the trip with a pre-cruise visit for three days to Prague, a beautiful, classic central European city in the Czech Republic. From there we were taken by bus to Budapest to begin our river cruise. The embarkation went very smoothly and before we knew it we were esconced in our cabin.

Our trip took us through Hungary (Budapest), Austria (Vienna, Melk and Salzburg), through a variety of German cities ending in Amsterdam. In each city visited we were given an interesting city tour typically by a local expert and offered a variety of interesting optional tours. Often, prior to our disembarking at each port we were offered a talk about the local culture, history and food.

All in all we had an unforgetable trip that I would recommend to anyone. Everything about our Viking experience was outstanding.

Space was tight, but well appointed.
